TUI Explorer, sailing for Thomson Cruises next year, will feature entertainment created by The Entertainment Department (ted)
Thomson Cruises announced that UK-based The Entertainment Department (ted) will be providing all entertainment on board TUI Explorer and the yet-to-be-named addition, currently sailing as Mein Schiff 2.

With a specially-created modern package of entertainment shows and attractions, the ted offering will be ready for launch on board TUI Explorer (currently sailing as Mein Schiff 1) from May 2018, providing a balanced mix of contemporary entertainment designed to suit customers of all ages.

Richard Sofer, md of Thomson Cruises said: ‘We’re delighted to confirm ted as our entertainment provider on the new additions to our fleet in the next two years.’

The content includes original theatre shows, light entertainment, musicians and children’s concepts, all of which embrace the latest technologies such as virtual reality and interactive screens.

ted is an original creator and global implementer of live production shows, sports and well-being activities, retail and audio visual programmes. Clients include TUI Group, Bourne Leisure, Away Resorts & Hoburne. It launched a separate talent management company, Represented Talent in 2016 based in central London.

ted ceo Robin Breese-Davies commented: ‘We strive to always produce creative and cutting edge content. To have our talent performing on a Thomson Cruises platform, delivering our bespoke shows is a great achievement. We are proud to be partnering with Thomson Cruises on the new ships entering its fleet and to be offering something distinctive from our competition.’

TUI Explorer will sail in the Western Mediterranean calling Barcelona, Rome, Naples, Florence and Lisbon.
