TUI Cruises' Mein Schiff 7 is named in the Kiel Fjord

Mein Schiff 7 was named in Kiel Saturday evening by godmother Fenia Kalachani, an environmental officer on board the Mein Schiff fleet since 2020.

The event culminated in a drone show and fireworks, showcasing the feel-good ship against the backdrop of Kiel.  Images from the event were projected from Mein Schiff 7 into the night sky and were clearly visible from afar, especially to visitors of Kiel Week and Mein Schiff fans on the Kiellinie promenade.

Shortly after sunset, Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises, opened the official ceremony on the pool deck to mark the naming of Mein Schiff 7.  Guests were treated to an impressive ensemble performance, led by dancer and choreographer Chris Cross. 400 drones light up the sky.

Surprise guest Ben Zucker performed an exclusive  live set with songs including ‘Was für eine geile Zeit’ and ‘Na so?! T’.

Special celebration for Wybcke Meier

At 112,000gt , the 315mtr vessel long, been fitted with cutting-edge technology to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions and is also equipped with methanol capability and a shore power connection. noted Watson Farley & Williams  which advised long-standing client TUI Cruises on the delivery of Mein Schiff 7.

Around 2,500 guests, including many new but also loyal passengers of the Mein Schiff fleet, had booked the exclusive naming ceremony and maiden cruise, round trip Kiel which started the day before.

Summer in North Europe

Throughout the summer, Mein Schiff 7 will sail eight- to 17-day voyages between Kiel and Norway before the itinerary switches in mid-August for eight- to 10-day Baltic Sea cruises from/to Warnemünde.

In winter 2024/25, the youngest member of the fleet will spend the majority of the season in the Canary Islands with cruises starting and finished in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria.
