Celebration Key's ROIC is expected to mirror that of a newbuild, Carnival Corp. CEO Josh Weinstein said
Carnival Corp. & plc is expecting returns from its new Celebration Key to mirror that of a newbuild.

Carnival projects at least mid to high teens ROIC for a newbuild 'and we expect no less from our land-based investments as well,' CEO Josh Weinstein said Tuesday.

Not afraid to invest

Celebration Key will add costs next year and 'We're not afraid to invest ... to make it a great success,' but expect a 'great return,' CFO David Bernstein echoed.

The destination's pricetag has been listed as $600m with a second two-berth pier to come on line in 2026.

Benefits

Carnival Cruise Line's Grand Bahama enclave will drive revenue by raising ticket prices and onboard spending (from purchases of excursions, activities, goods and services) and cut fuel cost due to its homeport proximity.

Celebration Key is scheduled to begin taking calls in July 2025 so the revenue impact next year will be 'fairly minimal,' Weinstein said. Deployment ramps up to 18 ships in 2026.
