Michael Bayley - 'Lots of opportunities for world's largest ships to go to China'
With China hungry for the biggest and best, how soon could an Oasis-class ship sail there?

'That's a good question. You never know,' Royal Caribbean International president and ceo Michael Bayley said in a dodge on Wednesday, before suggesting another big new ship could be China-bound—perhaps Quantum Plus or Icon.

Oasis 4, Symphony of the Seas, will debut in the Mediterranean from Barcelona next April before repositioning to PortMiami in November 2018. A fifth Oasis-class ship is under construction at STX France for delivery in 2021.

Bayley noted Royal Caribbean has Quantum Plus deliveries in 2019 and 2020 from Meyer Werft, and a 'brand-new class in Icon.' Those approximately 200,000gt ships, also from Meyer, would come in 2022 and 2024.

'So there are lots of opportunities for world's largest ships to go to China,' he said.

Quantum of the Seas is currently based in China year-round, and sister Ovation of the Seas sails from there seasonally.
