The company opened sales three months earlier than usual.
Poseidon President Nikolay Saveliev said travel advisors and customers are 'comfortable looking ahead, well beyond the COVID-related interruption ... People are ready to solidify their plans for 2022 and beyond.'
Poseidon's 114-passenger Sea Spirit last visited West Greenland in early summer 2018.
Voyages include a 12-day 'Land of the Vikings' itinerary from Reykjavik, Iceland, to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, and an eight-day 'Icebergs, Whales & Inuit Culture' adventure, round-trip Kangerlussuaq.
Svalbard to the High Arctic
In midsummer, Sea Spirit will sail from Svalbard to the Franz Josef Land Archipelago before returning to East Greenland in September for a pair of 11-day cruises that focus on the aurora borealis.
According to Saveliev, Poseidon remains the only company that visits Franz Josef Land directly from Svalbard, eliminating several sea days and giving eight full days to explore this extraordinary archipelago in the Russian High Arctic.
Antarctica
Sea Spirit then heads south in October 2022 to begin its Antarctica season. This includes four Antarctic Peninsula voyages of 11 to 12 days, three longer (21 to 23 days) itineraries that include South Georgia and the Falkland Islands and the 15-day 'Crossing 66 Degrees South Latitude' expedition.
